Donate Your Toothbrush

For about 38 years, Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) has lead a community effort to prevent homelessness and end hunger.  In 2017, 18,000 households visited their food pantry which resulted in 1.3 million pounds of food distributed.  Another 121,000 pounds of clothing were given out to those in need.

We are proud to partner with this organization and start a new initiative to assist in ongoing oral health care needs.  At your next dental appointment, you will have the option to donate your toothbrush to MOM instead of taking it home with you.  Please consider giving back if you don't need an extra toothbrush or if you have an electric toothbrush.

When you give to support your neighbors through MOM, you touch the lives of so many in the community.

Thank you for your generosity!

DAIS Supply Drive

From April 17th - May 11th, we will be collecting supplies for DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services).  Their mission is to empower those affected by domestic violence and advocate for social change through support, education, and outreach.  DAIS provides eight comprehensive intervention, education, and prevention programs to victims of domestic violence and to members of our community, including the only emergency domestic violence shelter in Dane County.

In 2015 alone, the shelter served 542 adults and children and provided over 19,000 nights of shelter to survivors of domestic violence.  Your donations to DAIS will directly impact the lives of DAIS shelter residents by providing them with the day-to-day items they need.

We are collecting donations from the DAIS Wish List.  You can drop your donation at our collection box located at the Madison No Fear Dentistry office.

"I still have moments of being scared, flashbacks of horrible things that happened in my life.  But seeing that picture today made me realize that I did more than just survive.  I see a brave woman doing everything in her power to protect her children and make them happy.  Someone at DAIS told me I could do it, and I did!  I don't know where I'd be without any of you." - DAIS Client

Madison No Fear Dentistry Builds Little Free Library

The Little Free Library has a rich history in the Madison community inspired by a tribute to honor a loved one while encouraging neighborhood engagement.   It was founded to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity, and wisdom across generations.  With a message like this, how could we not get involved?

Madison No Fear Dentistry is proud to support The Little Free Library initiative as a means to give back to our patients while building a literacy-friendly neighborhood.  We are excited to share our own Little Free Library with the community!

Please feel welcome to stop by and take a book or leave a book.  According to the Little Free Library, “These little book exchanges are about community connection, just as much as they’re about books and literacy,” and we couldn’t agree more.

Madison No Fear Dentistry Celebrates Recent Awards

This has been an exciting month for us!  First, we were humbled by the public's voting for the Wisconsin State Journal's Star of Madison Award naming Madison No Fear Dentistry as Madison's Best Dental Facility!  Then, Madison Magazine honored us again with the Top Dentist Award for Dr. Dave Ducommun.

The Star of Madison Awards winners are determined by the number of write-in votes on ballots submitted by Wisconsin State Journal readers and viewers. To see a full list of winners, visit

The Madison Magazine asked thousand of dentists- “If you had a patient in need of a dentist, which dentist would you refer them to?”  The Top Dentist 2013 is the result of this peer survey highlighting the Top Madison-Area Dentists.  The 2013 topDentistsTM  database is based on hundreds of detailed evaluations of dentists and professionals as voted upon by their peers. We want to share these awards with all our amazing patients and thank them for their continued support!

A key component that sets our practice apart is the integral role patients play in their own care.  Utilizing state-of-the-art cameras and above-chair computer screens, we spend a great deal of time educating each patient and getting to know them in-depth.  It's not unusual for an initial consultation to last between 90 minutes and two hours.

"By the time they leave their first appointment, they know as much about their teeth as we do," says Ducommun.  "They're empowered to make treatment decisions based on what they know, rather than on a blind recommendations by the dental team."

Madison No Fear Dentistry's team also focuses on getting to know the person behind the teeth, an essential component to recognizing and comforting fearful and anxious patients.  Backed by technology, an essential licensing that allows everything from sedation treatment to periodontal laser treatment under one roof--not to mention renewable energy, recycling, and other eco-friendly initiatives-- patients feel cared for and respected as well as 'part-of.'

"Our mission is to give them a great experience, not a 'cleaning,'" says Ducommun.  "Everything that we do, every decision we make, is so that we can improve the quality of our patients' experience."

Greening our Community with Madison's Bike to Work Week

National Bike to Work Week, May 13th - 17th
The Wisconsin Bike Federation is the country's largest, statewide bicycle organization.  They work with people around the state to make Wisconsin biking convenient, safe, accessible, and fun.  During this annual event, find local promotions to encourage people to switch out their traditional transportation to a more eco-friendly and healthy means of getting around town.

It's a great day for a ride!  Biking, even for a week, contributes to a healthier community, puts more money back into our local economy, and prevents pollutants from entering our atmosphere.  We challenge you to try to switch to a bike for a week, a day, or even just one trip.  To find your convenient Madison commuter stations, click on  Happy trails!

Top 5 Reasons for Buying Local:
  1. Enrich the community economy: Each time money is spent at a locally-owned business, the tax stays in Dane County to support local resources such as schools, parks, police/fire, and much more.
  2. Keep Dane County original: We ensure that unique, one-of-a-kind businesses survive.
  3. Provide more jobs: Altogether, locally owned independent businesses are our largest employer.
  4. Ensure a solid foundation for local non-profit organizations who serve us.  Locally owned buinesses give more.
  5. Create good places to work: We want work life to reflect home town friendliness and familiarity.  Treating our employees well is part of our community commitment.

Share Your Holidays to Eliminate Hunger

As we start preparing for the winter weather and busy holiday season, Madison No Fear Dentistry invites you to participate in our Food/Fund Drive to benefit Second Harvest Foodbank.

Through the past 16 years of the "Share Your Holidays to Eliminate Hunger" campaign, the Madison area has helped provide 22 million meals for families facing hunger.  However, the high demand for emergency food assistance continues to grow.  It's only through community support that we can end hunger in Southwestern Wisconsin.

To do our part, we will be collecting donations starting November 12th through December 3rd.  Drop off your non-perishable food donations at our office, located 344 S. Yellowstone Drive or contribute online.  We appreciate your generosity!

Madison No Fear Dentistry is honored to announce that we've been ranked in the list of Top 10 Organizations with Under 100 Employees in Madison Magazine's Top 10 Best Places to Work 2012.

A record 110 Madison area businesses applied for the prestigious recognition even though unemployment levels in the city are historically higher than normal.

"This award is well deserved for both Madison No Fear Dentistry as well as Dr. Ducommun as a leader." ---Madison No Fear Dentistry staff

The Madison Magazine survey anonymously measures six areas of employee engagement: trust, management, development, rewards, connection, and life-work balance.  To qualify to compete, at least half of each company's employees must fill out the extensive survey.  This year, they also had to fill out additional surveys measuring two new factors, diversity and sustainability.

"I am blessed to work with the greatest dental team in town." ---Dr. Dave Ducommun.
