Meet the Doctors /

Dr. Bob Holsen

Hello,

Like many dentists, my interest in the profession was piqued by a personal experience. As a young teen, I hit the back of a parked car while riding my bike and smashed my two front teeth.  The dentist was able to eliminate my excruciating pain in the end, but the process was almost more painful than the injury itself.  I remember thinking how great it would have been if the same pain relief could be provided in a painless manor.

This experience genuinely shaped my approach to practicing dentistry. I strive to listen to my patients as people first. Then assessments of their needs and concerns can be made in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment. Treatment options can be presented and discussed, settling on a personalized plan that works best for the individual. My primary goal is to eliminate the barriers and fear that have kept people away from the dentist, sometimes for decades, and make my patients comfortable coming to see me.

One of the most memorable experiences of my career was talking to a patient’s wife. She was so thankful because her husband had never smiled so much before in their entire time together. That’s when it resonated with me that we can truly change people’s lives.

I moved to Madison to join Dr. Ducommun and his team at Madison No Fear Dentistry because I feel they/we really do put all our effort into providing the best patient experience possible… which is what it’s all about.
